10 lepers call out to Jesus for their healing.     Luke 17: 13 “Jesus, son of David, have mercy on us”.

He is near because He is everywhere. Are you calling out to Him for what you need? You may not feel His presence, but the truth is, He is near, very near! We tell ourselves that He won’t or doesn’t want to answer our requests, or prayers, because we don’t deserve it – that is usually a lie.

Come to where He is – Where is He? Christ in you, the hope of Glory.

2 Cor. 11:1-4 I hope you will put up with a little more of my foolishness. Please bear with me. 2 For I am jealous for you with the jealousy of God himself. I promised you as a pure bride to one husband—Christ. 3 But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. 4 You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.

My fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ would be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. Satan’s desire is to divide you from Christ. To remove you from the peace, rest and joy of being in relationship with Jesus.

I have 4 D’s and 3 E’s for today’s sermon.

The 4 D’s are not of God.

1. Deception

2. Depression – no sadness in God. He is not sad, so we should not be either.

3. Disillusion – wrongly perceived – God does live in illusion, He lives in Truth

4. Disheartened – God never loses heart/confidence in what He has planned for His creation

God does not doubt His power concerning His creation because He knows the truth. He is faithful to His word.

The 3 E’s are how we need to pursue God.

1. Encountered

2. Experienced

3. Established

Encounter God in everything – come to where He is, He is everywhere – you can’t escape Him

Luke 17:11 Lepers couldn’t come close, but they did cry out when they knew Jesus was near. Jesus is near you, cry out! Look for encounters so that you can experience Christ and be established in His truth.

Luke 18 Persistent widow

v.2 She came repeatedly to seek justice

v.5 I’m going to see that she gets justice before she wears me out

v.7 so don’t you think God will give justice to His chosen people who cry out to Him?

v.8 He will grant justice quickly

Encounter, Experience & Establish by simple faith DAILY – Trust and Obey

The Enemy is trying to get us to doubt God’s love for us and His word to us

2 John 8b – 9 Be diligent to receive your full reward. V.9 …But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son.
