We are God’s design.

The enemy has violated that design by getting us to think God is out to keep us from certain things, or to punish us into obedience. Not True!

What is God’s design for your life?

Gen. 1 – He made us in His image (giving), male and female – Adam and Eve had everything they needed. He said they were to be fruitful and multiply – fill the earth and govern it

God breathed into man and he became a living person. It was not good for man to be alone. Joined to his wife, the 2 became 1.

The enemy came to break that relationship between God and Adam/Eve, Man/Woman, People

God desires relationship with His creations. Jesus came to make it possible.

2 Cor. 10:5 (NLT) We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. (relationship with our creator). v.4 We use God’s mighty weapons to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning (what is good and what is evil) and to destroy false arguments.

We reason humanly because Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

We need to remember that we are saved, right with God, born again because of the blood of Jesus not because of our behavior. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all our sins – past, present and future.

The seed of fallen man (sinful nature) produces after its own kind (sin).

The seed of new creation (born again – God’s nature) produces after its own kind (Love, Joy, Peace, Long-Suffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control)

When God said ‘Be fruitful and multiply’ they had God’s nature and could only produce good fruit. They did not need grace and mercy, because they had not sinned. After they ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they produced fruit from that seed. That is why Jesus came, to pay for the sin of the world and to restore our ability to produce fruit from the nature of God.

2 Cor. 9:6 Remember this – a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.

What are you planting? Good/God seed or Bad/evil seed. No matter which seed you plant, you will harvest the same crop.

We need to plant the seed of the Good News concerning Jesus Christ.

v.10 God provides the seed and He will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. v.12  So 2 good things will result from your ‘ministry of giving’  – the needs of the believers will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.

v.7 You must decide in your heart how much to give (plant). And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. v.8 And God will generously provide all you need.
